The Coincidence Theorist's Guide to 9/11
I posted an earlier version of this last week at Democratic Underground. I've added a number of more entries, and links for all.Happy coincidenting!That governments have permitted terrorist acts against their own people, and have even themselves been perpetrators in order to find strategic advantage is quite likely true, but this is the United States we're talking about.That intelligence agencies, financiers, terrorists and narco-criminals have a long history together is well established, but the Nugan Hand Bank, BCCI, Banco Ambrosiano, the P2 Lodge, the CIA/Mafia anti-Castro/Kennedy alliance, Iran/Contra and the rest were a long time ago, so there’s no need to rehash all that. That was then, this is now!That Jonathan Bush’s Riggs Bank has been found guilty of laundering terrorist funds and fined a US-record $25 million must embarrass his nephew George, but it's still no justification for leaping to paranoid conclusions.That George Bush's brother Marvin sat on the board of the Kuwaiti-owned company which provided electronic security to the World Trade Centre, Dulles Airport and United Airlines means nothing more than you must admit those Bush boys have done alright for themselves.That George Bush found success as a businessman only after the investment of Osama’s brother Salem and reputed al Qaeda financier Khalid bin Mahfouz is just one of those things - one of those crazy things.That Osama bin Laden is known to have been an asset of US foreign policy in no way implies he still is.That al Qaeda was active in the Balkan conflict, fighting on the same side as the US as recently as 1999, while the US protected its cells, is merely one of history's little aberrations.The claims of Michael Springman, State Department veteran of the Jeddah visa bureau, that the CIA ran the office and issued visas to al Qaeda members so they could receive training in the United States, sound like the sour grapes of someone who was fired for making such wild accusations.That one of George Bush's first acts as President, in January 2001, was to end the two-year deployment of attack submarines which were positioned within striking distance of al Qaeda's Afghanistan camps, even as the group's guilt for the Cole bombing was established, proves that a transition from one administration to the next is never an easy task.That so many influential figures in and close to the Bush White House had expressed, just a year before the attacks, the need for a "new Pearl Harbor" before their militarist ambitions could be fulfilled, demonstrates nothing more than the accidental virtue of being in the right place at the right time.That the company PTECH, founded by a Saudi financier placed on America’s Terrorist Watch List in October 2001, had access to the FAA’s entire computer system for two years before the 9/11 attack, means he must not have been such a threat after all.That whistleblower Indira Singh was told to keep her mouth shut and forget what she learned when she took her concerns about PTECH to her employers and federal authorities, suggests she lacked the big picture. And that the Chief Auditor for JP Morgan Chase told Singh repeatedly, as she answered questions about who supplied her with what information, that "that person should be killed," suggests he should take an anger management seminar.That on May 8, 2001, Dick Cheney took upon himself the job of co-ordinating a response to domestic terror attacks even as he was crafting the administration’s energy policy which bore implications for America's military, circumventing the established infrastructure and ignoring the recommendations of the Hart-Rudman report, merely shows the VP to be someone who finds it hard to delegate.That the standing order which covered the shooting down of hijacked aircraft was altered on June 1, 2001, taking discretion away from field commanders and placing it solely in the hands of the Secretary of Defense, is simply poor planning and unfortunate timing. Fortunately the error has been corrected, as the order was rescinded shortly after 9/11.That in the weeks before 9/11, FBI agent Colleen Rowley found her investigation of Zacarias Moussaoui so perversely thwarted that her colleagues joked that bin Laden had a mole at the FBI, proves the stress-relieving virtue of humour in the workplace.That Dave Frasca of the FBI’s Radical Fundamentalist Unit received a promotion after quashing multiple, urgent requests for investigations into al Qaeda assets training at flight schools in the summer of 2001 does appear on the surface odd, but undoubtedly there's a good reason for it, quite possibly classified.That FBI informant Randy Glass, working an undercover sting, was told by Pakistani intelligence operatives that the World Trade Center towers were coming down, and that his repeated warnings which continued until weeks before the attacks, including the mention of planes used as weapons, were ignored by federal authorities, is simply one of the many "What Ifs" of that tragic day.That over the summer of 2001 Washington received many urgent, senior-level warnings from foreign intelligence agencies and governments - including those of Germany, France, Great Britain, Russia, Egypt, Israel, Morocco, Afghanistan and others - of impending terror attacks using hijacked aircraft and did nothing, demonstrates the pressing need for a new Intelligence Czar.That John Ashcroft stopped flying commercial aircraft in July 2001 on account of security considerations had nothing to do with warnings regarding September 11, because he said so to the 9/11 Commission.That former lead counsel for the House David Schippers says he’d taken to John Ashcroft’s office specific warnings he’d learned from FBI agents in New York of an impending attack – even naming the proposed dates, names of the hijackers and the targets – and that the investigations had been stymied and the agents threatened, proves nothing but David Schipper’s pathetic need for attention.That Garth Nicolson received two warnings from contacts in the intelligence community and one from a North African head of state, which included specific site, date and source of the attacks, and passed the information to the Defense Department and the National Security Council to evidently no effect, clearly amounts to nothing, since virtually nobody has ever heard of him.That in the months prior to September 11, self-described US intelligence operative Delmart Vreeland sought, from a Toronto jail cell, to get US and Canadian authorities to heed his warning of his accidental discovery of impending catastrophic attacks is worthless, since Vreeland was a dubious character, notwithstanding the fact that many of his claims have since been proven true.That FBI Special Investigator Robert Wright claims that agents assigned to intelligence operations actually protect terrorists from investigation and prosecution, that the FBI shut down his probe into terrorist training camps, and that he was removed from a money-laundering case that had a direct link to terrorism, sounds like yet more sour grapes from a disgruntled employee.That George Bush had plans to invade Afghanistan on his desk before 9/11 demonstrates only the value of being prepared.The suggestion that securing a pipeline across Afghanistan figured into the White House’s calculations is as ludicrous as the assertion that oil played a part in determining war in Iraq.That Afghanistan is once again the world’s principal heroin producer is an unfortunate reality, but to claim the CIA is still actively involved in the narcotics trade is to presume bad faith on the part of the agency.Mahmood Ahmed, chief of Pakistan’s ISI, must not have authorized an al Qaeda payment of $100,000 to Mohammed Atta days before the attacks, and was not meeting with senior Washington officials over the week of 9/11, because I didn’t read anything about him in the official report.That Porter Goss met with Ahmed the morning of September 11 in his capacity as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence has no bearing whatsoever upon his recent selection by the White House to head the Central Intelligence Agency.That Goss's congressional seat encompasses the 9/11 hijackers' Florida base of operation, including their flight schools, is precisely the kind of meaningless factoid a conspiracy theorist would bring up.It's true that George HW Bush and Dick Cheney spent the evening of September 10 alone in the Oval Office, but what's wrong with old colleagues catching up? And it's true that George HW Bush and Shafig bin Laden, Osama's brother, spent the morning of September 11 together at a board meeting of the Carlyle Group, but the bin Ladens are a big family.That FEMA arrived in New York on Sept 10 to prepare for a scheduled biowarfare drill, and had a triage centre ready to go that was larger and better equipped than the one that was lost in the collapse of WTC 7, was a lucky twist of fate.Newsweek’s report that senior Pentagon officials cancelled flights on Sept 10 for the following day on account of security concerns is only newsworthy because of what happened the following morning.That George Bush's telephone logs for September 11 do not exist should surprise no one, given the confusion of the day.That Mohamed Atta attended the International Officer's School at Maxwell Air Force Base, that Abdulaziz Alomari attended Brooks Air Force Base Aerospace Medical School, that Saeed Alghamdi attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey merely shows it is a small world, after all.That Lt Col Steve Butler, Vice Chancellor for student affairs of the Defense Language Institute during Alghamdi's terms, was disciplined, removed from his post and threatened with court martial when he wrote "Bush knew of the impending attacks on America. He did nothing to warn the American people because he needed this war on terrorism. What is...contemptible is the President of the United States not telling the American people what he knows for political gain," is the least that should have happened for such disrespect shown his Commander in Chief.That Mohammed Atta dressed like a Mafioso, had a stripper girlfriend, smuggled drugs, was already a licensed pilot when he entered the US, enjoyed pork chops, drank to excess and did cocaine, was closer to Europeans than Arabs in Florida, and included the names of defence contractors on his email list, proves how dangerous the radical fundamentalist Muslim can be.That 43 lbs of heroin was found on board the Lear Jet owned by Wally Hilliard, the owner of Atta’s flight school, just three weeks after Atta enrolled – the biggest seizure ever in Central Florida – was just bad luck. That Hilliard was not charged shows how specious the claims for conspiracy truly are.That Hilliard’s plane had made 30-round trips to Venezuela with the same passengers who always paid cash, that the plane had been supplied by a pair of drug smugglers who had also outfitted CIA drug runner Barry Seal, and that 9/11 commissioner Richard ben-Veniste had been Seal’s attorney before Seal’s murder, shows nothing but the lengths to which conspiracists will go to draw sinister conclusions.Reports of insider trading on 9/11 are false, because the SEC investigated and found only respectable investors who will remain nameless involved, and no terrorists, so the windfall profit-taking was merely, as ever, coincidental.That heightened security for the World Trade Centre was lifted immediately prior to the attacks illustrates that it always happens when you least expect it.That Hani Hanjour, the pilot of Flight 77, was so incompetent he could not fly a Cessna in August, but in September managed to fly a 767 at excessive speed into a spiraling, 270-degree descent and a level impact of the first floor of the Pentagon, on the only side that was virtually empty and had been hardened to withstand a terrorist attack, merely demonstrates that people can do almost anything once they set their minds to it.That none of the flight data recorders were said to be recoverable even though they were located in the tail sections, and that until 9/11, no solid-state recorder in a catastrophic crash had been unrecoverable, shows how there's a first time for everything.That Mohammed Atta left a uniform, a will, a Koran, his driver's license and a "how to fly planes" video in his rental car at the airport means he had other things on his mind.The mention of Israelis with links to military-intelligence having been arrested on Sept 11 videotaping and celebrating the attacks, of an Israeli espionage ring surveiling DEA and defense installations and trailing the hijackers, and of a warning of impending attacks delivered to the Israeli company Odigo two hours before the first plane hit, does not deserve a response. That the stories also appeared in publications such as Ha'aretz and Forward is a sad display of self-hatred among certain elements of the Israeli media.That multiple military wargames and simulations were underway the morning of 9/11 – one simulating the crash of a plane into a building; another, a live-fly simulation of multiple hijackings – and took many interceptors away from the eastern seaboard and confused field commanders as to which was a real hijacked aircraft and which was a hoax, was a bizarre coincidence, but no less a coincidence.That the National Military Command Center ops director asked a rookie substitute to stand his watch at 8:30 am on Sept. 11 is nothing more than bad timing.That a recording made Sept 11 of air traffic controllers’ describing what they had witnessed, was destroyed by an FAA official who crushed it in his hand, cut the tape into little pieces and dropped them in different trash cans around the building, is something no doubt that overzealous official wishes he could undo.That the FBI knew precisely which Florida flight schools to descend upon hours after the attacks should make every American feel safer knowing their federal agents are on the ball.That a former flight school executive believes the hijackers were "double agents," and says about Atta and associates, "Early on I gleaned that these guys had government protection. They were let into this country for a specific purpose," and was visited by the FBI just four hours after the attacks to intimidate him into silence, proves he's an unreliable witness, for the simple reason there is no conspiracy.That Jeb Bush was on board an aircraft that removed flight school records to Washington in the middle of the night on Sept 12th demonstrates how seriously the governor takes the issue of national security.To insinuate evil motive from the mercy flights of bin Laden family members and Saudi royals after 9/11 shows the sickness of the conspiratorial mindset.Le Figaro’s report in October 2001, known to have originated with French intelligence, that the CIA met Osama bin Laden in a Dubai hospital in July 2001, proves again the perfidy of the French.That the tape in which bin Laden claims responsibility for the attacks was released by the State Department after having been found providentially by US forces in Afghanistan, and depicts a fattened Osama with a broader face and a flatter nose, proves Osama, and Osama alone, masterminded 9/11.That at the battle of Tora Bora, where bin Laden was surrounded on three sides, Special Forces received no order to advance and capture him and were forced to stand and watch as two Russian-made helicopters flew into the area where bin Laden was believed hiding, loaded up passengers and returned to Pakistan, demonstrates how confusing the modern battlefield can be.That upon returning to Fort Bragg from Tora Bora, the same Special Operations troops who had been stood down from capturing bin Laden, suffered a unusual spree of murder/suicides, is nothing more than a series of senseless tragedies.Reports that bin Laden is currently receiving periodic dialysis treatment in a Pakistani medical hospital are simply too incredible to be true.That the White House went on Cipro September 11 shows the foresightedness of America’s emergency response.That the anthrax was mailed to perceived liberal media and the Democratic leadership demonstrates only the perversity of the terrorist psyche.That the anthrax attacks appeared to silence opponents of the Patriot Act shows only that appearances can be deceiving.That the Ames-strain anthrax was found to have originated at Fort Detrick, and was beyond the capability of all but a few labs to refine, underscores the importance of allowing the investigation to continue without the distraction of absurd conspiracy theories.That Republican guru Grover Norquist has been found to have aided financiers and supporters of Islamic terror to gain access to the Bush White House, and is a founder of the Islamic Institute, which the Treasury Department believes to be a source of funding for al Qaeda, suggests Norquist is at worst, naive, and at best, needs a wider circle of friends.That the Department of Justice consistently chooses to see accused 9/11 plotters go free rather than permit the courtroom testimony of al Qaeda leaders in American custody looks bad, but only because we don't have all the facts.That the White House balked at any inquiry into the events of 9/11, then starved it of funds and stonewalled it, was unfortunate, but since the commission didn't find for conspiracy it's all a non issue anyway.That the 9/11 commission's executive director and "gatekeeper," Philip Zelikow, was so closely involved in the events under investigation that he testified before the the commission as part of the inquiry, shows only an apparent conflict of interest.That commission chair Thomas Kean is, like George Bush, a Texas oil executive who had business dealings with reputed al Qaeda financier Khalid bin Mafouz, suggests Texas is smaller than they say it is.That co-chair Lee Hamilton has a history as a Bush family "fixer," including clearing Bush Sr of the claims arising from the 1980 "October Surprise", is of no concern, since only conspiracists believe there was such a thing as an October Surprise.That FBI whistleblower Sibel Edmonds accuses the agency of intentionally fudging specific pre-9/11 warnings and harboring a foreign espionage ring in its translation department, and claims she witnessed evidence of the semi-official infrastructure of money-laundering and narcotics trade behind the attacks, is of no account, since John Ashcroft has gagged her with the rare invocation of "State Secrets Privilege," and retroactively classified her public testimony. For the sake of national security, let us speak no more of her.That, when commenting on Edmond's case, Daniel Ellsberg remarked that Ashcroft could go to prison for his part in a cover-up, suggests Ellsberg is giving comfort to the terrorists, and could, if he doesn't wise up, find himself declared an enemy combatant.I could go on. And on and on. But I trust you get the point. Which is simply this: there are no secrets, an American government would never accept civilian casualties for geostrategic gain, and conspiracies are for the weak-minded and gullible.

You seem to have omitted the meaningless factoids about how all the WTC buildings that collapsed, WTC1, WTC2 (the 'Twin Towers') and WTC7 (a) looked just like they were demolished by explosives experts and (b) were all controlled by Larry Silverstein, president of the Israeli Export Development Corporation, who inserted the clause into the lease on the Twin Towers, which he acquired only 8 weeks before 9/11, giving himself to right to rebuild on the spot if they ever fell down.

I don't understood what it all adds up to. What's the moral of the story in one short paragraph? No matter what the facts are you must believe that there was a final goal in mind. This massive conspiracy is for WHAT? Bush to take over the world? Put money in pockets? So he planned or knew about 9/11? I don't get it. See that's why the article is meaningless to me. Because if the moral of the story is that Bush knew about 9/11 for some type of world domination goal, it's just not true. So all of that info is meaningless to me. There was no conspiracy and say what you want about Bush. Stupid, incompetent, greedy, but he's not a mass murderer so he can "take over the world" or put a few million more dollars in his friends or his family's pockets. You have to believe that thesis for any of the info in that article to matter. The thesis is false. Sorry.George Bush did not know about 9/11 and he isn't trying to take over the world. So the article is meaningless to me.For someone who believes that he did, all of those points just reinforce your belief. I bet the majority of the people who read that article don't take the time out to research the other side or the true meaning and see if it adds up to anything. This is a meaningless yet upon reading it, it'll make you go "wow!" type entry. Hi Jeff - nice work, hopefully will get through to some with their heads still in the sand (or elsewhere) - one thing - there was no standing order to shoot down hijacked planes - the standing order was simply to intercept them immediately, at which time the people in charge would have more info about the situation and decide whether to shoot them down or whatever.... the problem with saying something like this that is incorrect is that the "coincidence theorists" will jump on this as being wrong and try to use it to discredit everything else that is right!

Whomever pointed out all the 'odds' - you must either have been asleep in stats class or are the world's worsr gambler. Your argument falls apart when, you talk about the towers falling apart. Anyone who has an engineering degree and has been exposed to structural or civil engineering, (or even people who saw the two hour special on the history channel) knows that the building's supports melted and caused a cascade failure in the structure. Since the fires and explosions were localized, the intense heat and fire weakened the entire columns down to the base.Any of this info can be found on any collection of news and non news and non US websites.It is sad that you people need to look for some 'nifty action movie' type conspiracy. Bush may be a lousy president but as someone else pointed out, it isn't like he's planning to take over the world.So, can you guys get real jobs and stop working tech support, or fast food, or retail, or whatever it is you do. However, if all the evidence you cite is readily verifiable for the public, why no outrage? If it is as open and shut as you say, then people in high places should be exposed. Your odds are very, very wrong, to the extent that you're providing ammunition to the wingnuts who think questioning the official story is the preserve of the crazy.US airline security was appalling before 9/11. I know of various people who managed to accidentally carry *guns* in their hand luggage, never mind small blades.You're radically overestimating the value of air defence. I don't know much about NORAD, but the chances of a typical air defence system getting caught off-guard while not on terrorist alert would never be less likely than 100-1 (ie 99% success rate). I suspect they'd be a great deal lower.Flying a 767 or a 757 isn't an easy job, but it's not an enormously hard one - and the difficult bits are things like landing and flaps, not airside steering. Purely on the basis of my MS flight simulator experience, I managed to do some reasonably impressive-looking things in British Airways' real 767 simulator a few years ago. The reason pilots train for a long time is because if you mess it up then everyone dies, so a 95% chance of success isn't really acceptable. The terrorists appear not to be too worried about people dying.The WTC towers were specced to withstand a plane impact, but not to withstand a full planeload of kerosene setting them on fire. While passers-by didn't think the towers would fall, experienced structural engineers did.The WTC towers were also specced so that if they did ever fall due to external force, it would be in the form of a perfectly downward controlled-like demolition. This is the case for all new skyscrapers - everyone concerned *really* wants to avoid playing Manhattan dominoes.

Regarding fire in The Towers:There was quite a bit of radio conversation coming from firefighters who at certain points after reaching the burning floors determined that the fires had died down to "controllable" levels. From memory, firefighters stated floors they were on and then commented how fires were dying out. The obvious point, is that structural steel columns would be most likely to buckle when they are at their highest temperature, since the yield strenght of the steel reduces with temperature (and then more or less returns as the steel cools!) - This is another discrepancy pointed out by some structural people examining the sequence of fire-heating-cooling-collapse...

Perhaps you should also consider the Oklahoma City bombings as part of the "dress rehearsal". Tim McVeigh behaved in a very, desensitized, "programmed" way during his trial, interviews and just before execution. To me it seemed the whole event smacked of Pentagon/CIA planning to test if they can program Americans to kill and terrorize fellow Americans. The close-quarters urban combat tactics being tried out in Iraq are really just a warm-up for the real war in American cities in case of revolution. That the Bush family was involved with Nazi Germany and aided several high-ranking Nazis in coming to the US just about says it all.

His talks are easily downloaded through file sharing apps. A quick look at the neocons website: www.newamericancentury.org shows they were itching to invade Iraq all through the 1990s. In '98 they wrote a letter to Clinton (published in the Wash. Times, avail on the pnac website) urging him to invade then. And, as noted, they wrote that it'd take a Pearl Harbor like event to get Americans behind that and other war plans. Wow! great blog! but about the firemen...was it bombs or the poor sad souls who had to jump? in the French bros film it seems they were confused as to what the explosions were...did some from the upper floors here them too? this is almost to horrible to ask, but what about the firemen not being warned...were they trapped in cause they found the detonator fuses or something? around 350 firemen dying seems unbelivable. Anyone else remember the story?The collapse of the towers from 'melting' structures and the plane (global hawk?) which hit the pentagon are interesting and documented in detail on many sites. Briefly:The fact that people made it to the holes which the planes made in the buildings, without getting their hair or clothes burned (there's video evidence for this), suggests that the fires in the buildings were not big enough to impede their paths from, presumably, the far side of the floors hit by the planes or the floors just above. It would be the thick smoke coming from within the building and up the external walls rather then the fire that they were jumping to escape from.The hole in the side of the Pentagon was narrower and less tall than the Boeing which supposedly hit it, and there was no damage to the lawn infront of the building. There is a suggestion that the explosion has the hallmarks of a bomb rather than a fuel-based explosion (based on colour, light intensity, size and speed of expansion) but bent-over lampposts near the pentagon indicate that a plane did approach it. So maybe a global hawk packed with explosives? But then if you're going to hijack a plane, why not just fly that into the building instead of going to the extra hassle? And maybe the Boeing just got smaller as it came closer to the building. I'm sure there's something in the Theory of Relativity to explain that ;-)Jim

For those of you who discount conspiracy theories because you feel people will tend to come forward and expose it afterwards, you are missing some big points. First of all, people HAVE come forward with their testimony about conspiracies, but the powers-that-be simply censure them from the mainstream media, generally keeping people in the dark. All one has to do is look at the tremendous amount of time and effort that assassination researchers have put into the Kennedy and King assassinations.There are mountains of verified and documented information that has been uncovered by these people that lays to rest the government versions of these murders. This information has been available to any interested-enough party for many years. Most people are totally unaware of the amount of information out there that disproves the government's case against Oswald, Ray and Sirhan. Certainly, being tied to the corporate powers that steer our goverment behind closed doors, the mainstream media will never give this information to the general populace. In other words, just by the amount of people that can be kept in the dark or made to consider conspiracy theorists as wackos, the conspiracy itself remains a very safe distance from mass public exposure.Secondly, conspiracies such as 911 are orchestrated much like a military operation. There is a chain of command and those that execute certain roles underneath. Information is dispensed to these foot soldiers on a need-to-know basis. It is just a matter of doling out orders and the pawns of the conspiracy complying. The over-all nature of the operation is kept in the dark when it involves something as murderous as 911. No one has mentioned the interesting fact that 7 of the 911 'hijackers' pitched up in Saudi Arabia and claimed their passports were stolen---them and a few thousand other unvigilant travelers. They were not very pleased to have these accusations against them, so they spoke out. It's a small country, not too likely that the reporters were making it all up. I was there, 8-31-01 to 8-31-03, following the local news. I also read a very tiny article at the bottom of a financial page shortly after the beginning of the attack on Afghanistan that now the dormant oil pipeline through Central Asia Project was going to be revived. hmmm....No one has mentioned that land mines (cluster bombs) were dropped on Afghanistan or that depleted uranium was used to bomb afghanistan and Iraq and of course Bosnia, and that DU has a half-life of 4.5 billion years. It seems that someone has decided people should no longer live in those areas of the world. Why ? Perhaps they are counting on expendable slave labor to work in those hot spots in the future, extracting or guarding the oil? Or is there something else planned for these regions, maybe by people who have the wherewithal to deal with the current environmental problems?It's also of note that s/he who controls the Middle Eastern oilfields controls Asia, and they with a permanent military presence in key areas control everyone.As to what They hope to accomplish by all these machinations, what's wrong with world domination or the domination of space? Science got a divorce with permanent restraining order from Ethics and Morality just ages ago-----science wants to know, who cares how they find out? Perhaps there is a plan afoot to solve it? 911 is not the beginning. If you take a longer look, you might not even think of it as a very notable event.

As to what all that has to do with 911, some obviously might think I'm wandering very far from the topic, but the point is that a lot of people can't seem to even get used to the idea that groups of people in power would use that power against them for goals of their own, let alone have goals that were not very nice or even very human, and that seems strange to me. This 911 thing goes on forever and people in the US, if nowhere else, keep feeling amazed and stunned. Why ? What is so strange about the idea that someone orchestrated a massive psyops campaign against the people of the country that sends those campaigns everywhere else, that some buildings got blown up on purpose, that some people have disappeared by force, that there were lies and more lies and that things don't get better? Why the surprise?

Can any of you accept the premise that the reason the motivation for so many "interesting coincidences" seems so convoluted may be that those events are a part of a larger picture? The incidental events which shape our national policy and our narcissistic tunnel vision with regard to events outside our borders tend to blind us to the possibility that our interests are merely part of a wider agenda.Any reliable intelligence analyst will tell you that there is often no problem getting sufficient information. The problem lies in determining what information is safe to ignore. In compiling your list of coincidences, what little inconsistencies did you ignore in order to point your conspiracy toward Mr. Bush (or Mr. Ben Laden)? Was there anything that might indicate that both parties may be bit players in a larger production?Be thankful that in this country suspecting the government of conspiracy is not generally treated as a capital crime. Consider, however, that those who get close enough to a larger picture might be perceived as threatening a wider agenda. Clearly, few who managed to do so would be deemed inconsequential.This is merely speculation. Still, playing parlor games with incomplete information may be safer, in the long run.

It's interesting to me to read through the comments and responses to various articles suggesting 9/11 was an inside job.The first thing I see happening is a fallacious line of reasoning, either stated outright or implicit, called "appeal to consequences of a belief." To believe- even suspect- that the government of your own country could really do something that bad- is emotionally and psychologically devestating. ("Do you realize what you're saying...?") So there is an instinctive repulsion from such ideas- it is very hard to look at all the freely available evidence with an objective eye when so much is at stake. Well, yeah, a few of those things look pretty suspicious, but come on- they wouldn't do THAT. Right? Right...?The other common reaction I see is outright ridicule. "HAHA RIGHT AND THE FREEMASONS KILLED JFK TOO? GO PUT ON YOUR TINFOIL HATS AND MOVE TO FRANCE, YOU MORANS!"Well, maybe I'm engaging in a bit of ridicule myself there, but you get the idea. The less research into history, politics, and current events a person has done, the more likely their response will be condescending laughter. They're not going to click your links because their minds are made up- you're a paranoid idiot, ha ha ha. Well, if 9/11 was the psy-op to end all psy-ops, the perpetrators could have counted on 99.x% of Americans to react in one of those two ways. So I look at the most obvious lies they are telling, the things that are most likely being covered up, and think; ok, what could be the truth that would be worse for them, if known, than getting caught telling lie?For example- WTC 7. They said it collapsed due to fire damage, which is a lie. It was obviously, unequivocally brought down by planted demolition charges, as can be seen by anyone who watches the videos. [ Maybe not obvious to some people, but that is only because most of us have never seen a building collapse except in a controlled demolition, so it's the only thing we could expect to see. ]Why lie about something like that? Well, if building 7 were rigged for demolition, it would have to have been done before the planes hit the first two towers. By whom? Well, by someone who knew in advance what was going on, and had access to the buildings. Someone the people who gave us the fire-collapse explanation are lying to protect. Very interesting comments here (especially the naysayers). I have a background in MI/CIT. We used a system called MOSAIC. You basically would take some data/info and paste it on a board. Sort of like putting a puzzle together. Eventually you have enough data to start "connecting the dots." The rule is that if you have at least 30% (connected), that's enough to continue further investigation. If you can get to 50% or more, then you're really hot. You can never expect to get to 100% (impossible), but generally want to shoot for 60 to 80%. Anything beyond that is gravy.From what I have witnessed here in this piece (and have known on my own accord), at least 50% of this would stick and would warrant further investigation. I agree with many here, that this goes way beyond GWB and even Cheney et al. Read "The Grand Chessboard" for some clues. Also seriously studying Pearl Harbor, particularly Kimmel's and Theobald's own after action reports will help as well. It would also help to understand Gen. Smedley Butler, his change of heart after winning two CMHs, and what he probably witnessed FDR did in Haiti in 1915 as ASecNav.As to the naysayers, I would simply have to say that you remind of a college buddy of mine who worked for Bob Bullock at the time and personally introduced me to GWB while gov of TX. (I voted for GWB in 2000 BTW) He is so heavily vested with the GOP, that he cannot afford to hear and act on the truth. It could very well destroy a major segment of his client base and thus possibly his business. I honestly wish that he would garner the courage of Stanley Hilton (former CoS for Bob Dole). Small papers across the country carrying reports of odd behaviour by FBI agaents, eye witness reports of soldiers, on and on... But so what?For most Anericans, ignorance is Bush.. i mean bliss. They don't read much, they get there news from MTV, or worse, Fox... and if they don't see it there, it just didn't happen. It's all out... I just read this whole thing, and honestly except for operartion northwood, none of it was new. I had looked at alot of this stuff before, verified it with "reputable" news sources.. it's all out there... just few people really want to hear it. They just pretend to accept the official line because.. well it's easier than accepting responcibility... or worse facing the possible fact that there may be nothing you can do about.Everytime i see this stuff it infuriates me, but.. i got to get on with my life.I can only hope that one day people wake up and really vote without listening to Fox

On September the 11th I was shocked and confused like every one else, and I wanted to know who the hell did this thing. Almost immediately on the news and stuff bin laden was blamed, and it turns out that crazy Muslim fanatics had hijacked the planes on his orders. I didn’t know too much about Muslims before all this but I felt after 9/11 that there must be something pretty screwed up about them in general if they believe in doing such things. That was just my knee-jerk assumption, and eventually I meet some Muslims at work. I felt stereotypical like these people are going to be crazy. But as spoke to them and asked them about 9/11, they were very open about it and told me that the Muslims who supposedly carried out the attacks weren’t true Muslims at all, and in fact it was just as outrageous to them as it was to me. And it was then that I realised that in all this 9/11 Muslim terror worldwide "al-kieda" imminent definite danger that’s gunna get us all, I had almost subconsciously been being a pre judging racist towards Muslims of which I knew nothing about before and really still nothing after 9/11.So I thought why would the news scare us all so much about Muslim fanatics being totally evil and being every were and we will never be safe. In the full knowledge that they know a result of such a bombardment of information is going to cause at least an unfair and racist sense of distrust for Muslims in the general publics’ consensus. After all this I started to become more interested in the news and the Palestine Israeli conflict, as that was were the whole Islamic suicide bomber idea originated, and in fact the main root cause for Muslim anger, although I thought I wouldn’t be able to understand why the hijackers did what they did even if I found the reason. But I realised that Ariel Sharon the Israeli prime minister, who id never heard of or was interested in prior to, was just as evil if as the suicide bombers, which made me feel that this isn’t such a one sided conflict of defence of Israelis against the suicide bombers, but the provoking and breeding of hate from the Israeli side as they crap on the Palestinian people, and are surprised when some of them snap and join crazy Islamic militias like “Hamas” etc who feed and need this hatred to continue. But still I didn’t get why people would be angry at America so I did some research and found out that the US backs Israel 100% when its being a shit and gives it money and arms in the name of “defence”, and also that there are people in American government who have both Israeli and American passports who are extremely powerful and who preach their anti Palestinian racism to Bush etc and are listened to, which prolongs the conflict. So it was with the discovery of these types of people, the racist Israeli/American government officials, that I found the reasons why Muslims dislike America, not because of a hatred of “freedom” but because of the way America backs Israel’s nazi like government.So now that I felt I was better informed about the whole issue of Islamic anger I could remotely understand why al-kieda did what it apparently did, although it still seemed inhuman and crazy. So I did some research on al-kieda considering how much we are all told about it on the news, it seemed important. But I was shocked to discover that al-kieda was actually paid for by the US in the 1980s when they used it to fight against the soviets in Afghanistan. The US is meant to have pumped $600 billion dollars into the conflict, and ironically built the infamous al-kieda training camps and torah bora cave complex. This made me think no way, why if something that the US/CIA created, and was a asset, turn on them with out them not knowing about it, or even having a clue. And it was then when an interest into why Muslims hate America turned into why would the US let go an asset (al-kieda) that they paid $600 billion for, and then let it attack American soil. This to me felt as shocking and wired as seeing the plains hit the towers, so I carried on researching and found out that al-kieda was apparently fighting on the side of NATO in Yugoslavia when we went to war with the Serbs as recently as 1999, where they rallied Muslim fighting support in the area to aid NATO. I began to feel like a conspiracy nut with the idea that the US was lying about not knowing anything about al-kieda’s ambitions, when they had been involved with them in 1999, and if true, then the obvious conclusion for me was that the US/CIA would have had close tabs on all people/militia assets they would have worked with and so couldn’t have lost track and must have used al-kieda on its self on 9/11.I now think something different. I found that the idea for crashing planes into the world trade centre in particular had already been thought about by the makes of the x-files of all people. In the pilot episode of the lonegunman, which is a spin of the x-files, a plane is hijacked, by US black ops agents electrically and with a member of the lonegunman onboard, sent towards the two towers. This is being done by the black ops so that there is an excuse for war and that arms companies can profit. Luckily though the plane is counter hacked by another member of the lonegunman and the pilots regain control of the plain and narrowly miss colliding with the WTC towers in Manhattan. This was aired in March 2001, four months before the attacks. This was strange but my theory for government or inside involvement on 9/11 isn’t to do with weather Arab terrorists hijacked the plains or weather they were electronically hijacked if that’s even possible. But my theory lies on with what happened to the towers including wtc7 after the plains hit, and what happened to the world after the event.On September the 11th my logical thoughts were like everyone else’s thrown up in the air with the whole emotional shock of the event. I wasn’t trying to examine the way in which the buildings fell or even considering that they were built to withstand direct plain crashes, and fires with out collapsing. But with a close examination into the physical dimensions of the towers and the way in which they fell, instead of buckling and swaying as you would expect with bending steel, they both imploded from top to bottom with no frictional resistance or loss of momentum that you would expect from the undamaged parts of the building resisting, slowing and even stopping it as it fell. But in fact the buildings fell at freefall speed with no resistance. This caped with the same thing occurring with the WTC7 tower of which no plain hit but fell all the same in exactly the same fashion, and was officially described as falling due to fire, which is a blatant lie as in some videos of it puffs of dust can be seen being expelled from the top of the building symmetrically downwards just before the building falls which strongly suggests controlled demolition and not fire as reason for collapse. Also though Firemen at the scene and in the buildings said they heard systematic explosions like demo charges going of before the buildings fell, and all the rubble on America biggest crime scene ever, that could prove weather or not the structures were subjected to controlled explosions, was swiftly exported and disposed of melted down with no investigation. This all adds up to events suggesting an inside job, which is so crazy to comprehend that most people will disregard it, and which is vital to the perpetrators who are controlling public opinion e.g. the bigger the lie, the bigger the amount of denial. Which in fact is a natural reaction and one that is often correct in assuming, but also in this case does the argument for government complicity on 9/11 make sense in assuming once the evidence is actually explored.The government ultimately controls mass media and for good reason, people shouldn’t be told about everything that could possibly happen as to not induce mass panic, but on the contrary, that is more or less what we are being told anyway. So in truth terror alerts are nothing but scar mongering tools, which detracts people from general thought and inquiry on what happened on 9/11, and gets people behind their lying government without considering the lies because of overriding fear. Which allows these people in US government to implement their agenda of obtaining oil resources, providing profits for arms companies, demonising Muslims so to rally people behind certain Israeli racists in power, give the excuse for wars in the middle east, and give the western world a new “evil” enemy to concentrate on (now that the previous “evil” communist threat is gone which they also exadurated), and to impose draconian legislation like the “Patriot act” and id cards etc which allows these people in power, and with power the control to do more of what they like. All apparently in the name of the new American Century. And if that’s what the next “new” or “neo” American Century is about I think the American people and the World should know!

Unfortunately, this is all true. There's a lot, lot more. The only place I have found it is the Indian media, who were given intelligence by the Indian Military intelligence, that included transcripts of conversations between Musharraf and Bush. Musharraf asked, and Bush accepted, over 15000 Taleban, "Al Qaeda" and Pakistani Regulars to be air-lifted out of Mazar-e-sharif. That September 11 started with a hijacking in Kathmandu was the headline merely days after the incident and it was very easy for their readers to work out the rest.

I spoke to someone who recycled the WTC steel - he said in his entire life, he had not seen steel as good as the WTC steel. I don't believe any independent investigators were allowed access to the WTC steel after the collapse.

This can only mean: Bush and his Secret Service chief had to have known Bush was not even a possible target on 9/11; the ONLY WAY they could have known that is if Bush knew the 9/11 plans beforehand, ergo 9/11 was an inside job. Though Bush's actions on the morning of 9/11 are well-documented, including a press conference (!) nobody in the mainstream media dares to mention what Bush's tarrying in that elementary school actually MEANS in terms of evidence. It really is truly amazing that intelligent people (such as all those reading and commenting at this blog) would ever come close to concluding that Bush and our government planned the Sept. 11th attacks. Are you serious? PLEASE think about it. How many of you have complained about the failures of FEMA with Katrina relief? And many other failures of the US govt. Do you really think the behemoth fed govt could organize such an attack and at the same time hide all of the planning? AND, get everyone involved to buy into? Come on people, use your brains for once and stop making everything a political issue. American people died. The govt has worked to improve security and saves lives. Yes, Katrina. Firemen commented on how FEMA stationed them -- playing cards and drinking beer instead of saving people -- then, assigned to pass out flyers. Volunteer sportsmen 1000 of them, brought a flotilla of 500 boats to help save people, but Dept. of Wildlife and Fisheries (under FEMA) turned them back at gunpoint. The one person that was allowed thru with a smaller boat found 200 DWF officers standing around. Coast Guard offered 1000 gallons of diesel to Broussard, FEMA blocked. I mean there IS a lot of conspiracy related stuff on the internet isn't it (anybody read "Foucault's pendulum" by Unberto Eco?) Anyway, i do believe we are being lied to on that matter. The thing is, as somebody said, that it is somehow hard to believe that such a huge thing could have been planned, designed, executed, without anybody giving out the info. No leaks, nothing...? They purchased them at migraine pfo. It hasn't worked for all of them, but has completely eradicated the problem for one of them, and made the migraine pfo much more bearable for the other. On the matter of 'joining the dots' I have been thinking on this for several days, since seeing "Truth and Lies of 9/11" by Michael Ruppert. I have never been a conspiracy theorist. I've preferred to think along the lines of Humanity being overall too stupid to control it's own destiny, and most of the available evidence does seem to support that thought. However the way the logic in my mind works the conclusions that come from being exposed to this information are undeniable. I think we are insects, to use an analogy, like the Enterprise crew were when first encountered by the Borg. Not important, considered only for what we represent, what we produce for them. And certainly not considered any sort of threat. When I say we, the evidence suggests also that even Presidents are insects too. Allowed to go their own way.. so long as they don't get in the way or.. unless they are needed as tools. Kennedy would be an example of one that got in the way. Bush as a tool for the Conspirators. It isn't difficult to come to this conclusion, Kennedy was assassinated, supposedly the most important and powerful man in America.. Some might even say one of the most loved presidents, at least in hindsight. And yet we are lied to obviously about how it happened. He was shot in full view of the American public, the film is there for all to see.. the shot did not come from the side or the rear as the official report says.. but from the front. The fact that the Nation accepts that Lie is besides my point, which is that the Lie was made and continues to be defended. Why? But for who? Who are the Conspirators? Well if the answers to that are on this page I have missed them. To draw final conclusions would be arrogant in thinking we have all the information. But I will add my theory from what I've seen and read these few days. The Conspirators are Capitalists. Not just the Rich, but the really dominant players in Commercialism today. Before the fall of the Iron Curtain they were concerned with a long battle between Capitalism and Communism. Since then Capitalism has no rival but has shown signs of collapsing in it's own right. America is the one super power. The Capital of Capitalism. What the evidence of Coincidence tells us America has done to keep their budget from collapsing is horrific. Even before 9/11. Before stumbling across this stuff I thought George Bush was nasty enough, just being opportunistic after the tragedy. Now, whatever the final reason turns out to be, I have little doubt that he was part of the plan all along. And again if not, why all the secrets? We are supposed to suspect the muslims, we are supposed to spy on our neighbours.. trust no-one. What about you Mr. Bush, why the fuck should we trust you? You haven't been open about your dealings with the Bin Laden family. You haven't explained why you told ivestigating authorities to 'lay off' them when you first came to office. Yes the coincidences don't seem to have an end. Capitalism itself may have a limited lifespan left. Maybe They don't have something to replace it with yet, maybe they just want to enjoy what life they can squeeze out of it while they can. Now if faced with the end of Capitalism and the chaos that would follow, what President, what congressman, would count 3000 lives as an obstacle to stopping that happen? We all seem to talk about Bush in belittling terms, saying he is greedy, lining his pockets. It's not for the gain, it's not for the profit of those pipelines that this was done. Not for the gain of money as such. But to avoid a global economic collapse should it not happen. Capitalism is no more viable than Communism was, it's just a tool of these people to keep their power now. These people don't care whether us insects live or die. They are already rich. They already have power. They don't need to kill us to get more of either. They are doing it so they don't lose it. Others may help them to gain some small share of what they have. Some may help them out of fear no to. Most wouldn't have a clue. It's no reason to call them stupid. We certainly weren't born knowing this stuff, and it takes a lot of unlearning to accept it as true. I don't know whether it is true either, it's just where the 'joining of the dots' has taken me in my head. So it's what I think today, and knowledge that I have to live with along with the fact that there seems no way to deal with this. Ho hum, maybe someone will disprove it tomorrow and all will be well in the world again.

Not that i have any proof and/or justification, but just a nifty feeling of "cool" while sitting on the beach..but, as far as there being a conspiracy: definately yes. Is the US govt part of it: yes...but ultimately, don't you have to ask who is really pull the strings. someone raised a point: in any crime investigation you have to ask about the why and the motive...well, in this case, it is no different. maybe, we really don't want to know the why? when you really think about it, it seems that the "bad guys" are all predominantly muslim participants while all the good guys are all part of some sort of predominantly "christian" nation. Now this is possibly a stretch, but bear with me...wether this cover-up stretches over a few years or not is moot. for all of us Bush-bashers, we would have to think that he isn't smart enough on his own....i would tend to believe that he is part of something bigger and badder.. when you thin about it, the only entity with enough, clout, history, and influence, through all of history to orchestrate all the cooperation through all the respective parties is the Vatican...who else in modern history has been the most loved, revered, respected, feared, and accessible leader than Pope John Paul? There are so many biblical references, Nostroadamus predictionsm, etc that point to current history...is there any chance that the catholic church, influencing over a tenth of the worlds population are trying to disprove or change our predicted history? it is widely predicted that he was the 2nd to last pope to rule before the end of days countdown began and may people believe that 9/11 and the resulting actions are the beginning of end....so it is so hard to believe the oldest, most widespread and influential clandestine organisation isn't trying to alter its and the worlds destiny. Think Crusades, Martin Luther, John Calvin, etc...not like they havnt' been willing to sacrifice a few to "save" the many..Again, no proof, no links, no anything than just some wild thinking and and some research into some prophetic writings regarding the current world state of affairs.its obvious that something is being hidden and covered up, but, the question remains as to why and by whom, and of course, do we really want to know- anything, for sure?

Of course, I believe all these conspiracy theories, because, as everyone knows, no radical Muslims ever do crazy things in the name of their religion. For instance, the Fatwah supposedly issued against British author Salman Rushdie was actually a publicity stunt, issued by Mr Rushdie himself dressed up as an Iranian ayatollah, to drum up sales for his faltering new novel. And Dutch film-maker Theo Van Gogh ritually disembowelled himself in the streets of Amsterdam before slitting his own throat. This may seem like quite an achievement, but remember that Theo was an indirect descendant of an artist who once cut off his own ear, so it runs in the family.

Why is it that those who cling to the "official" story also tend to wrongly assume that those who DON'T also think that terrorism in general doesn't exist, in other words, operate in simplistic "black and white" mode?Heck, I would have thought that by Watergate, or at least Iran/Contra, most intelligent people would have realized that there's a lot more shades of grey than that.But I guess trying to make that point to a "black and whiter" automatically makes me a bad guy.Go figure.
