A Love Story/God's Gift to the Children: the friends, the children, and the Robots

A Love Story…… God’s Gift to the Children: the Friends, the Children, and the Robots.

Robert wasn’t sure about this new endeavor. Would he have to study medicine? Would he have to become a doctor? He was intrigued with this new project she had approached him with.

Robert Stealth was confident he could do whatever it took. He knew what her love had already done for him. She believed in him unconditionally and it showed. He glowed in her adoration.

If he couldn’t do the programming for the prosthesis he would find someone to teach him. There was nothing that would stand in their way. The two of them would conquer this new frontier together. Their belief in each other was a blessing that could only be described as sent from a Higher Power.

The subject was neither new in theory, nor in practice. However the number of children needing attention was many. If this new project was to work, it had to be implemented immediately.

Robert began to research the moment she finished sharing her ideas.

Cal was tired and her computer was broken. She took this opportunity to rest and tidy up her affairs. There was much to do when the plan was put into action.

Cal and Olivia had begun working together on the blue prints for the ‘castle turned hospital’. It would be the ideal place for the children’s new and very much improved home.

Robert and Cal had known each other for quite some time. He knew she was a high maintenance woman and when he programmed his robots, he took that into consideration. It showed in Olivia.

Robert knew Cal better than anyone and knew that she always needed a challenge. He could provide that. After all, he was much the same, always up for new ideas.

The hospital was the least of their worries now. The children were dying daily from lack of care. Even the ones that had been slightly injured and expected to recover fully were dying from malnutrition and contaminated water. The war had been only the beginning of the children's problems. The aftermath hadn't been entered into the equation when the war broke out.

Cal researched and knew the exodus had to start immediately. They had to get the kids out quickly.

Cal contacted Jill and gave her the go ahead. Two words on the phone to the German doctor and it was a done deal.

The Red Cross plane was ready with-in the hour. The doctor and his staff were airborne immediately.

The doctor understood the urgency of the situation. He had been reading the files and updates daily. He also had a direct line to the caretakers of the children. He knew as much as anyone could possibly know from a location thousands of miles away.

The plan had been in the works since the day the war ended. It was crucial that the intensive care be started immediately if the children were to have a fighting chance.

The first group of children had already been hand picked by the doctors at the site. They were the healthiest of the group. It had to be that way. The weaker children would have a very low survival rate and the project would be futile if the patients couldn’t be saved.

The actual healing process had to begin as soon as the children boarded the plane. There were critical issues that were to be addressed at a later time.

The drugs had already been through beta. The public however knew nothing of the drugs that were to be administered to these children. It had to be kept that way. The scientist who had developed the drug had mysteriously died after the airing of a news report of his WONDER DRUG.

Little information was given on the news as to the cause of death. It was only reported that the doctor had died in his sleep.

Cal knew a journalist that had been fired recently due to sharing of information regarding the death. She had tried to contact Kyle at his place of work only to be told he no longer worked there.
